Rapid and repeated local adaptation to climate in an invasive plant.
Boheemen, Atwater & Hodgins
In this paper, Drs. Boheemen and Hodgins demonstrate evidence of local climatic adaptation in Ambrosia artemisiifolia, a plant introduced both to Eurasia and Australia. This paper contributes to growing evidence that invasive species adapt rapidly to local climatic conditions despite putative population bottlenecks. I am honored to have been included on this paper, but I can’t take much credit for the findings, as I contributed only a few SDMs to the project.
