Effects of species interactions on the potential for evolution at species’ range limits

I am thrilled to announce the publication of this paper with colleagues from ETH Zurich, Queens University, and McGill University. In this invited paper, we put forward a conceptual model for understanding evolution of range limits in species experiencing trait tradeoffs. This model shows that trait tradeoffs and correlations between environmental variables interact to affect range evolution in surprising ways. Our models suggest that the biotic context is very important for structuring ecological and evolutionary processes at range limits.
