I am a plant community and evolutionary ecologist. I study how human actions affect the ecology and evolution of weedy and invasive plants, and the processes that generate and maintain biodiversity. To do this work I do a combination of field experiments, mathematics, and computational modeling.

My research allows me to advance fundamental theory while providing information needed to protect food security, to promote natural resource production, and to conserve biodiversity.
